Nursing Students Practice Labor and Delivery Skills

This week nursing students in our School of Health Professions are preparing for child birth in their simulation lab using a pre-programmed mannequin.

In the scenario given to the students, the mannequin's "husband" is out of town on a business trip and is not available to be with her for the delivery.

Working as a team, the nursing students come together to soothe her and ensure she has a safe delivery.

The nurses practice advocating for the patient and assisting in delivery.

A few minutes later, a healthy baby girl is born, and it's love at first sight!

This is another way Dalton State is preparing nursing students for successful careers after graduation.
